Four people were taken to hospital after a car collided with a bus in Larches Lane, Preston.
Firefighters cut two people free from a Renault Clio.
A third person was thrown from the vehicle in the collision.
A fourth person on the bus was also hurt.
All four were taken to Royal Preston Hospital after the incident shortly after 5pm. It is believed two suffered serious injuries.
One casualty was taken by hospital by air ambulance, and a second by police helicopter.
Fire crews from Preston and Penwortham attended the scene.
Crew manager Mark Evans said it took around 15 minutes to free two people from the car.
A police spokesman said: “The air ambulance took one casualty to hospital and the police helicopter transferred a second one.”
It is understood that a parked vehicle was also slightly damaged in the incident.
