Fears over crime spate at Preston car park

incidents: Car park

incidents: Car park

Concerns have been raised over a mini-spate of offences at a well-used city car park.

Police are investigating reports of a number of problems at the Market car park, off Ringway, Preston city centre.

Residents at the city centre Police and Communities Together (PACT) meeting heard that reports have been received from Preston Council regarding issues at the facility, which holds more than 500 vehicles. The meeting was told that the reports regard “groups of youths gathering on the market multi-storey car park.”

There has been a number of incidents of criminal damage reported and incidents of these youths starting fires.

Police are now investigating.

Anyone with information about such offences can call police on 101.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org.
