Fatal fire on Leyland Lane,Leyland

Fatal fire on Leyland Lane,Leyland

A person has died following a house fire in Leyland

Fire crews from Penwortham, Leyland and Bamber Bridge fire services were called to a terraced property on Leyland Lane, Leyland at around 8.20pm on Sunday evening.

On arrival they were met with smoke issuing from the terraced property and six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property to carry out a search and rescue as there were reports that there was somebody still trapped.

Firefighters could not save the person trapped in the house and an investigation into the cause of the fire will begin on Monday morning with the help of Lancashire Constabulary and forensic scientists.

At this moment in time, nothing is known about how this fire started.
