Fashion students sweep the board
Three University of Central Lancashire students are on the road to success after sweeping the board in an international fashion competition.
The second year digital design for fashion undergraduates took first, second, and third places in the worldwide Style Sight competition.
Entrants were asked to create a set of prints for next season's fashion trends based on an aspect of heritage.
Carla Little claimed top spot in the global student competition with her English heritage themes designs.
She created eight prints which included elements of wallpaper motifs, chandeliers and the outfits of fox hunters.
Runner-up was Nazia Akhtar, who produced eight prints using influences of time and architectural heritage based on Big Ben, Roman numerals and the Coliseum. Blackpool's Elena Mingas took third spot with her heritage prints.
Andrea Cushion, lecturer in digital design for fashion, said: "This is an amazing result for the students and the university. It can only add to our worldwide profile as part the International Fashion Institute."
