A father-of-one was killed when his bike was in a collision with a van at a notorious Preston roundabout.
Paul Fingleton, 47, from Fulwood, died after the incident at Broughton roundabout on Monday evening.
Police said a Citroen Relay van and the pedal cyclist, who were travelling south on the A6, collided at around 7.15pm.
Mr Fingleton, a director at Montpelier Chartered Accountants in Fulwood, sustained serious head injuries in the crash and died a short time later at Royal Preston Hospital.
The University of Central Lancashire graduate had a 13-year-old daughter, Hannah, with his wife Ann.
Mrs Fingleton said: “Hannah and I are completely devastated to have lost Paul so suddenly. Paul was a wonderful husband and father.
“He was at the heart of everything that we have ever done as a family and we will miss him terribly.”
Police closed the road for two hours while a preliminary investigation took place.
A full investigation is now underway and officers have appealed for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
Sgt Dave Hogarth, from the Force Road Policing Unit, said: “We know there were people that stopped at the scene to help prior to police arrival and I would urge these individuals and any witnesses to the collision to come forward and speak with police.”

Lancashire County Council leader Geoff Driver promised to invest £7m to improve traffic conditions in the area and asked the public for ideas to help improve the notorious roundabout in January.
But he admitted that the chances of a bypass for Broughton were “fast diminishing”.
Developers Taylor Wimpey intend to build more than 600 homes on the old Whittingham Hospital site.
But they can only build 350 before they must contribute millions of pounds to help pay for the bypass scheme.
Last year, County Hall tabled a scheme to make improvements at the roundabout, including an extra lane, but locals rejected the idea.
