Ex-student in hospital after crash

Latest news from the Lancashire Evening Post

Latest news from the Lancashire Evening Post

A former student remains in a critical condition after a car crash.

Joe Parks, a former Lancaster University student, and the son of Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeping coach Tony Parks, is in a critical condition at Royal Preston Hospital.

He sustained serious head injuries in an horrific car crash on the M6 last Monday.

Police said the 26-year-old was heading northbound on his way home from work at around 7.10pm, when his silver BMW came off the carriageway just before the exit slip road at Junction 29 Clayton Brook.

His car rolled several times down an embankment before hitting trees and coming to a stop.

This weekend, Tottenham stars paid tribute to Joe, from Thornton, near Blackpool, during the team’s Premier League game against Newcastle at White Hart Lane.

They wore T-shirts with the words Get well soon Joe written on the front.
