Operation Nemesis officers make another arrest

Police have now charged 13 people after the first three days of a crackdown on suspected drug dealers in Preston.

And officers say there could be more to follow as Operation Nemesis continues to target gangs across the city.

Four men were due to appear before magistrates on Thursday morning, to add to nine people already brought before the courts following raids earlier in the week.

Daniel Mcaleese, 28, of Earls Avenue, Bamber Bridge, was accused of two counts of supplying heroin, being concerned in the supply of heroin, being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, offering to supply crack cocaine and possessing cannabis.

Alexander Swales, 22, of no fixed address was facing four counts of supplying heroin.

Jamie Watkins, 21, of Dundonald Street, Preston was charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and possessing cannabis.

And Shaun Ianson, 38, of Heathfield Drive, Brookfield, was appearing on charges of supplying heroin and shoplifting.

All four were picked up after police squads executed warrants at addresses in Heathfield Drive, New Hall Lane, Greenlands Crescent and Dundonald Street on Wednesday.
