A 90-year-old car driver has died in hospital 10 days after being injured in a crash in Lancaster.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision between a Ford Fiesta and a Vauxhall Frontera on Wyresdale Road at its junction with Littlefell Lane at 10.40 am on Wednesday September 18.
The Fiesta driver, Richard Tredgold, was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with what were initially believed to be minor injuries. But his condition worsened and he died in hospital as a result of his injuries more than a week later. The driver of the Frontera was unhurt.
Sgt Malcolm Bell said: “The circumstances surrounding this collision are being investigated and I would urge anyone who witnessed it or has any information about it to contact police.” Anybody with any information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers.
