A woman who caused a car crash while nearly twice over the drink drive limit then drove off has been banned from the road for 17 months.
Pauline Singleton, 55, of Barnacre Close, Fulwood, Preston, admitted having 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of her breath while driving on July 28 this year. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
She pleaded guilty at Preston Magistrates’ Court to smashing her black Volkswagen Golf into a blue Skoda in Tom Benson Way, Preston and then failing to stop after the accident, despite damaging the other car.
Magistrates fined Singleton £310 for drink driving and £205 for failing to stop after causing the accident.
They also told her to pay a £30 victim surcharge, plus £85 court costs.
