Dig into Lancashire’s ancient past at an archaeology day school.

Bookings are now open for the event, to be held in Preston on May 4 at UClan.

Peter Iles, archaeology special advisor at Lancashire County Council, said: “This day will be a real treat for anyone interested in the archaeology of Lancashire – the day covers a wide range of topics and periods and you won’t have to be an expert to enjoy it.”

Speakers will share their knowledge on prehistoric caves and enclosures, medieval ecclesiastical remains, industrial archaeology, World War I practice trenches and the production of medieval floor and roof tiles.

To book your place, or for further information, please ring 01772 533404. Tickets cost £10 and include tea and coffee
