Two separate accidents on the M6 motorway caused delays on Friday morning.

The first accident happened at 7.50am on the northbound of the motorway between junction 34 and 35 and involved six vehicles.

There were no reported injuries and lanes two and three were shut at that time.

The second accident happened on the southbound carriageway between junction 35 and 34 and involved ten vehicles.

The accident happened at 8.30am.

One person is reported to have serious injuries.

The air ambulance attended.

There are said to be ‘hazardous’ driving conditions in the morning as a result of ice.
