Deepdale falls silent for Sir Tom Finney

Waiting for Video...

Deepdale fell silent ahead of Preston North End’s game with Leyton Orient as supporters paid tribute to Sir Tom Finney.

The minute’s applause ahead of kick-off was impeccably observed by a bumper crowd, both sets of players lining-up around the centre-circle.

Before that, PNE finance director Kevin Abbott had presented flowers and a No.7 Preston shirt to Sir Tom’s family.

In the seventh minute of the game, the crowd broke into a round of applause, Sir Tom having worn the No.7 shirt for North End.
