Robber in knifepoint ring drama

A couple were threatened at knifepoint at their home in Morecambe. A man called at a house on Scafell Avenue at 7.45pm on Monday and asked if they wanted to buy a ring. When they refused, the man made his way into the house and threatened the couple with a knife, demanding £30 for the ring. The woman gave the man £30 and he fled, leaving the ring at the house. Call police on 101.

Police bid to end shed theft

Patrols across Greyfriars and Cadley to clamp down on reported shed thefts are continuing. Officers in plain clothes and uniform have been looking for suspicious activity across the area.

Visible patrols set to stay put

A police presence which has quelled problems at shops in Preston will remain, residents have been told. There had been problems with dogs at Tanterton shops.

Alcohol stolen from store

A bottle of Jack Daniels worth £27.59 was stolen from The Co-operative on Garstang Road, Fulwood, Preston at 7.10pm on Monday. A man took the bottle, hid it under his clothes and then became abusive when approached by staff. Call police on 101.

£50 mountain bike stolen

A purple mountain bike worth £50 was stolen from the garden of a house on Ridley Road, Ashton on Ribble, Preston. It happened between 6pm on Tuesday and 7.45am yesterday.

Windscreen of car smashed

£500 of damage was caused to a Ford Fiesta parked on Grosvenor Street, Preston, when its windscreen was smashed. It happened on Tuesday.

Shoplifter stole bottle of vodka

A bottle of vodka worth £5.29 was stolen from Marks and Spencer in Fishergate, Preston. It happened at around 10.25pm yesterday.

Thieves steal sunglasses

Designer sunglasses were stolen in a break-in in Preston. Thieves targeted a Honda parked outside a house in Chalfont Field, off Black Bull Lane in Fulwood, between 7pm on Monday and 6.50pm on Tuesday. They broke in and stole two pairs of dark glasses, worth £150 each, from inside. Call Lancashire police on 101 with information.

Cheese thief targets shop

Police are appealing for information on a shoplifiting incident in Preston. The culprit entered the One Stop shop on Moor Lane at 12.05pm on Monday, lifted four packets of cheese and fled without paying. Call police on 101.
