Jail for stealing suntan lotion

A man who stole £64 of suntan lotion has been sentenced to a week in prison. Anthony Shurrock, 36, of Colwyn Place, Ingol, Preston, who is serving a three-month sentence for burglary, appeared via video link at Preston Magistrates’ Court. Shurrock admitted the theft from a Wilkinsons store in August and was handed a week in jail to run concurrent with his existing sentence.

Scrap metal is main problem

Warnings have been made about scrap metal dealers operating in parts of Lancashire. Residents in Tarleton have told the area’s Pact meeting they have been seen operating on weekdays across the area. People living in Hesketh Lane also raised concerns about speeding traffic on the road.

Double yellow parking issues

Drivers parking on double yellow lines has been raised as an issue to be tackled. Residents in the St Matthews ward of Preston have said it is a particular problem during school drop-off times. There has also been worries raised about cars using the access-only Dickson Avenue and parking on double yellow lines, causing an obstruction in the area.

Drug dealing is the problem

Drug dealers have been reported operating on a city estate. Residents who live on the Greenlands estate in Ribbleton, Preston, have told the area’s Pact meeting dealers were operating at ‘all times’ and it was made a priority for the area’s police. People on the nearby Trees estate have complained of dangerous motorbikes on the streets.
