A round-up of crime stories from across Lancashire

Fuel thieves strike in city

A van driver was left with a hefty repair bill after thieves climbed under a Ford Transit van and sliced into a fuel pipe to siphon off £50 of diesel. It happened on Hamilton Road, Ribbleton, Preston between 7pm on October 17 and 7am on October 18, police said. Witnesses call police on 101.

Jars of coffee were stolen

Four jars of Nescafe were stolen from the Iceland store on North Road, Preston. The thief, who was a man, struck at 2.41pm on October 17, posing as a prospective customer. Anyone with information should call 101.

Nuisance yobs at building site

Police are to investigate nuisance behaviour on a building site in Fishwick. Residents close to Samuel Street have complained to officers that youths are climbing scaffolding and getting into flats which are being built on the road. The issue was raised at a Police and Communities Together (PACT) meeting for the area.
