Motorbiking is issue in suburb

Neighbours in a city suburb have raised concerns people were riding motorbikes dangerously on a city estate. Residents in Moor Nook, Ribbleton, Preston, told the area’s PACT (Police and Community Together) meeting it is a persistent problem and police have named it as a priority issue.

Drug dealing to be tackled

Drug dealing in a city suburb has been highlighted as a problem for police to tackle. Residents in Greenlands, Ribbleton, Preston, have highlighted it as an ongoing problem.

Mobile phone drive problems

Calls have been made to crack down on drivers using mobile phones. People in Moorfields Avenue and Parklands Drive in the Sharoe Green, Fulwood, Preston, raised concerns.

Football fan to be sentenced

A football fan banned from travelling abroad for games who was filmed in the Ukraine during Euro 2012 will be sentenced today. Pele Duncan, 26, of Liverpool Old Road, Much Hoole, near Preston, admitted failing to comply with a football banning order and failing to hand in his passport. He will be sentenced at Preston Magistrates’ Court.

Patrols set to tackle burglary

High visibility patrols and letter drops are to be held around the Preston village of Inskip to warn residents about burglary. Police will also work with neighbourhood watch in a bid to reduce the number of incidents.

Students to be warned at uni

Police are to speak to students starting the new term at a Lancashire university to raise awareness of personal safety and thefts on campus. Both issues were raised as top priorities at the last meeting of Lancaster University’s Police and Community Together committee. The next meeting is on October 10.

Yob nuisance hits buildings

Concerns have been raised over anti-social behaviour at some of Lancaster city centre’s most frequented buildings. The city museum and library have both been the site of anti-social behaviour, according to residents in the city. Police are probing both allegations as a matter of priority.

Pavement bike menace probe
