Thief strikes at city superstore

A shoplifter stole three joints of meat from a Preston supermarket. A man has walked into the Asda store in Fulwood at around 1.30pm on Sunday and taken two lamb joints and a pork joint. He was described as being slim with long stubble.

Cycle was left outside a pub

A cycle was stolen from outside the Old Leyland Gates, Golden Hill Lane, Leyland. The Claude Butler bike had not been locked up when it was taken on August 30.

Yob smashes car window

The rear window of a Volkswagen Golf was smashed in Main Spirit Weind, Preston, between 11pm on Friday and 3am on Saturday.

Locking is key to area’s issue

An anti-social behaviour problem has been exacerbated by communal doors being left open, a meeting has heard. Residents who live on the Grange estate in Ribbleton, Preston, have discussed the problems in the Firtrees and Yewtrees part of the estate. The area’s Pact meeting has also heard the communal gardens have become a magnet for trouble.
