More patrols at city square

Police have made tackling anti-social behaviour on Winckley Square in Preston a priority after trees were damaged and residents reported nuisance behaviour. Officers in the city centre have been told of problems with youths drinking alcohol, smoking drugs and leaving litter in the afternoons and early evenings.

Drugs claims to be probed

Claims of “blatant” drug use in the Plungington area of Preston are being investigated. Residents in the area claim the problem – and that of cannabis use – is evident.

Neighbourhood watch attempt

Police are trying to establish more neighbourhood watch schemes around part of Preston. The issue was discussed at the last College and Moor Park PACT meeting.
