More than 60 cars unlocked

More than 60 cars in Buckshaw Village were found at risk of crime following an early morning operation by police in Lancashire. Sixty-two vehicles and 15 garages were discovered to be unlocked and unsecured during a two-and-half-hour period where hundreds of homes were visited.

Police to host three events

Three crime prevention and safety events will be held tomorrow in South Ribble. People can meet local neighbourhood policing teams, talk about pressing issues and receive crime prevention advice. The events are at B&Q, Bamber Bridge from 11am to 3pm, at Booths, Longton from 11am to 4pm and at Samlesbury Hall from 11am to 3pm.

Top of range glasses theft

Four pairs of sunglasses worth £500 have been stolen from Specsavers Opticians in Friargate, Preston. A man entered the shop with a woman, took four pairs of sunglasses from the display and put them down his trousers before leaving. Two pairs of Quicksilver sunglasses and two pairs of Nike sunglasses were stolen. It happened between 1.45pm and 1.50pm on Saturday. Call police on 101 to help.

Bicycle worth £130 stolen

A children’s Muddyfox bicycle worth £130 has been stolen from a property on Blackpool Road, Ribbleton, Preston. Some time between 6.45pm and 8.45pm on Saturday an offender entered the back garden of the property and used a crow bar type instrument to force the wooden door of the garage open before taking the bike.

Flags stolen from garden

Around 40 Yorkshire stone flags have been stolen from the garden of a house in Higher Bank Road, Fulwood, Preston. It happened between 12pm on September 24 and 12pm on September 29. Anyone with information is asked to call Lancashire police on 101.

Bag stolen from wine bar

A bag was stolen from Yates Wine Lodge in Church Street, Preston. The unattended bag was taken from a seating area between 12.40am and 1.15am on Sunday morning. The bag contained £80 in cash and a black HTC smart phone. Anyone with information should call police on 101.

Wing mirror is damaged

The wing mirror of a silver Ford Focus was damaged while parked on St Gregory’s Road in Preston. It happened sometime between 12.01am and 12.10am on Sunday morning. The car was locked and 
secure. Anybody with any information is asked to call Lancashire police on 101.

Table is stolen from garden

A glass table worth £150 was stolen from a garden on Miller Road, Preston. The offenders scaled the garden wall before stealing the table. It happened between September 22 and September 29. The table has a green wicker-style framework.
