A woman had to be cut from a car in an accident which shut a busy Preston road.
Firefighters had to cut the roof off a vehicle after the collision at the junction of Ringway and Market Street West in Preston city centre after 4.15pm on Wednesday.
The collision occurred when a vehicle collided with the back of the car as it waited to let a car pull out onto the Ringway.
A fire service spokesman said: “The ambulance service told us that because of the speed the vehicle was travelling at, we needed to get the driver out of the car on a spinal board.
“We had to cut the roof off her vehicle and remove her into the ambulance.”
The road was closed until 6pm by police while engineers cleaned up a fuel spill at the scene of the accident.
