Motorist gets speeding fine
A motorist caught speeding in Tarleton has been fined £265. Daniel Jones, 54, of Abington Drive, Banks, near Preston, admitted breaking the 50mph speed limit in a Nissan on New Road, on December 18 last year. Magistrates also told him to pay £50 court costs and gave him four penalty points.
Fined for not having licence
A woman caught watching television without a licence has been fined £55. Lisa Atkinson, 28, of Stefano Road, off New Hall Lane, Preston, was proved guilty in her absence of using the TV on November 29 last year without a licence. Atkinson was also ordered to pay £90 court costs.
Court order for man in assault
A man has been made the subject of a community order for assault. Iaran Kearns, 21, of Shelley Road, Ashton, admitted assaulting his victim and was given a 12-month supervision order when he appeared at Preston Magistrates’ Court. He must pay a victim surcharge of £60 and court costs of £85.
