Council backs gay adoption

Lancashire County Council is backing a campaign which encourages people from the lesbian, gay, bi or transsexual (LGBT) community to consider fostering or adoption.

LGBT Adoption and Fostering Week takes place from March 4 to March 10.

County Coun Susie Charles, cabinet member for children and schools, said: “In Lancashire we have a number of same-sex couples providing stable and loving homes for children who cannot live with their own families.

“We always need more foster carers and adoptive parents from all walks of life.”
