A journalist has been arrested on suspicion of hacking the computer of a Lancashire policeman.

The 28-year-old man, understood to be the former Times journalist Patrick Foster, was held at his north London home yesterday morning.

It is understood the arrest relates to a Scotland Yard investigation into the hacking of the email account of detective Richard Horton, who is now works in Leyland CID but used to work in East Lancashire, in 2009 which unmasked him as the author of the anonymous NightJack blog.
