City helps dancers into the final

Preston-power has helped push a team of talented dancers through to the finals of a national TV dance competition.

Fever Dance Co squad MJ Latin wowed the audience when they danced in the live semi-final of SkyTV's Got To Dance on Sunday.

The group – Louis Merlo, 16, Reiss Miller, 14, Matthew Wilson, 16, Stephen Robinson, 13, Natasha Hall, 14, Rachel Cook, 16, Rebecca Shea, 14 and Alice Blackledge, 16 – got only one vote from the three judges, but a mass of phone votes in just six minutes.

Fever choreographer Rachel Holland said the youngsters spent three days preparing for the show and added: "They weren't too disappointed they didn't get the judges' vote, they realise people like different styles of dance. I think they come across as a mature group of nice kids."

The youngsters are hoping their innovative routine, which combines Michael Jackson's music with traditional Latin dancing, will get the public vote again on February 14 when they appear in the live final.
