A PROBE has been launched after a man allegedly took a car from a carwash and valeting centre and drove it around Preston with child passengers inside.
A Vauxhall Corsa worth £1,000, had been left at Eco Carwash and valeting centre on Cunliffe Street, off Meadow Street, Deepdale, on Thursday.
It was spotted by traffic police on Harewood Road, Deepdale, Preston, who were suspicious of the number of people inside.
The car was chased to Glenview Road in Ribbleton, where it had to stop due to traffic bollards.
Three girls are understood to have fled the scene but the driver was arrested.
A man, 20, is being questioned on suspicion of the unauthorised taking of a motor vehicle.
He was named locally as Craig Rainford.
A boy, 17, and three girls aged 16, 16 and 13, are being quizzed at Preston Police Station.
