A series of special events are to be held across Lancashire to mark Dignity Action Day on Saturday February 1.
Residential homes run by Lancashire County Commercial Group Care Services, part of Lancashire County Council, are hosting a range of activities to highlight the importance of dignity in old age including coffee mornings, pamper sessions, tea dances with buffets, craft days and cake decorating.
County Councillor Tony Martin, cabinet member for adult and community services, said: “The purpose of all the events is to take the time to do something, however small, to remind everyone that dignity in care is everybody’s business, and not just for one day a year, but every day.
“As these events in our care homes show, it’s not about making occasional grand gestures, but paying attention to the small, everyday things that can make such a big difference to people’s quality of life.”
