A man and woman have appeared in court accused of two counts of breaching a council enforcement notice issued more than three years ago to remove caravans and mobile homes housed on their farm land.

Susan Edwards, 58, of The Marshes, Tarleton, near Preston is accused of owning land at Bannister House Farm in the village, which was in breach of a notice to cease the use of the land for storage, parking and siting caravans and vehicles, and to remove all the caravans, vans and ancillary items and vehicles from the site.

The alleged offences span a period between July 15, 2010 and June 21 this year.

Timothy John Edwards, 55, who gave the same address, is accused of the same two offences.

Both are to face a trial at Preston Magistrates Court on January 17.
