A family who fell victim to burglars who wrecked their home and stole more than £8,000 of possessions, had just suffered a bereavement, appalled police officers revealed today.
The family, who are too distressed to be identified, had been on holiday to recover from their distressing trauma when the burglars smashed their way into their home on Flowerfield, Cottam, Preston, between December 10 and 23.
They stole Pandora bracelets and charms, wedding rings, an engagement ring, a camera, a laptop and two mobile phones and even birth certificates.
