Police want to speak to this man

Detectives have released an image of a man they would like to speak to following a burglary at a house in Preston.

The man forced his way into a home in Skeffington Road by kicking its back door in between 1.35pm and 1.55pm on Wednesday, December 5, 2012.

He went upstairs but a 20-year-old woman confronted him and he ran off empty handed.

Police said the victim was unharmed but left incredibly shaken.

The man was described as Asian, aged around 20-years-old, of medium build, and around 5ft 8ins.

He had a beard and was wearing dark clothing with a shellsuit style jacket with the hood up.

Det Con Danny Greene said: “This was a terrifying incident for the woman involved, having to come practically face to face with a man who’d just broken into her home.

“Thankfully he didn’t get anyway with anything, but the intention to steal was definitely there.

“If anybody recognises the man in the Evofit I would ask them to contact police.

“I would also like to speak to anybody who feels they have any information which could assist with our investigation.”

Anybody with any information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
