Burglar caught in act on CCTV

Burglary at house in Glencourse Drive area of Fulwood

Burglary at house in Glencourse Drive area of Fulwood

These are the pictures of a ‘brazen’ burglary unfolding at a Preston home.

The house, in the Glencourse Drive area of Fulwood, was broken into at around 6pm on Monday.

Police believe the offender walked down the driveway of the home into the back garden and broke into the kitchen via a rear window.

He then searched the house and took several items of jewellery, as well as an Acer computer laptop and a black Nikon camera.

Officers released these CCTV images and appealed for anyone with any information to come forward.

Det Insp Paddy O’Neill said: “The person responsible for this was brazen - he has committed this offence in broad daylight in a residential area when there would have been a lot of people about.

“We believe a number of vehicles will have driven past him as he made his way out of the Glencourse Drive and Eastway area.

“I would urge anyone who may have been in the area at the time to think back, and if they remember seeing anything suspicious, to get in touch.

“Unusually he was wearing distinctive clothing including a leather look, flat cap, which had a triangular pattern on the top, a grey or black hoodie with a white drawstring and grey pants.”

The man is described as being aged between 25 and 35 and was between 5ft 8in and 6ft.

Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101 quoting crime reference number DF1203984, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
