The Crown Hotel in Croston, scene of a bungled pub burglary

A BUNGLING burglar who fell 10ft from a pub he was attempting to steal from is still in hospital.

Police are continuing to hunt for his 61-year-old accomplice who escaped from the scene before officers arrived at the Crown in Croston.

The 54-year-old suffered serious leg and back injuries as he attempted top flee the living quarters of the village pub.

The two men - who were said to be smartly dressed - walked into the busy pub over the May bank holiday weekend.

But instead of ordering a drink they made their way through a door leading to the living quarters.

The man tried to flee through a bedroom window but fell 10ft.

His accomplice ran away but the alleged burglar, who suffered serious leg and back injuries, was not able to run away.

An ambulance was called and the injured man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he remains, a week after the burglary.

Officers are still trying to identify the 61-year-old who remains at large.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101.
