Latest news from the Lancashire Evening Post

Motorists were hit with long delays on the M6 in Lancashire after a lane was shut due to a broken down vehicle.

Queues stretched from the M6/M61 junction, near Bamber Bridge, after Highways Agency engineers shut off one lane of the northbound carriageway to carry out repairs on a lorry on Monday.

Traffic was tailing back to Junction 28 at Leyland at 8am on Monday.
