Broadcaster Stuart Hall denies sex charges

Court case: Broadcaster Stuart Hall

Court case: Broadcaster Stuart Hall

Broadcaster Stuart Hall has denied charges of indecent assault at a court hearing in Preston.

The It’s a Knockout presenter sat in the witness box at Preston Magistrates Court, where he confirmed his identity and entered not guilty pleas to the charges, which date back to the 1970s and 80s.

During the 20 minute hearing, Hall, 82, looked straight ahead, as Joanne Cunliffe, prosecuting, outlined the allegations against him.

District Judge Peter Ward bailed Hall, of Prestbury Road, Wilmslow, Cheshire, to appear for a plea and case management hearing at Preston Crown Court on April 16 with the conditions he does not have any unsupervised contact with anyone under 17.

Judge Ward asked Hall: “Do you understand?”

Hall replied: “Yes I do.”
