Brazen thief stole hi-fi at supermarket

Shoplifting suspect: The woman

Shoplifting suspect: The woman

A brazen thief stole a hi-fi from a busy supermarket after hiding it in her bag.

Police said the shoplifter struck at the Sainsbury’s store in Flintoff Way, off Sir Tom Finney Way, in Preston.

The woman entered the shop on January 13.

She took the £50 sound system from a display, removed it from its box and concealed it in her bag.

The thief then walked past the shop’s tills without making any payment and made off with the stereo.

The woman was white, with dark hair tied back in a bun.

She was wearing a white jacket and had a large bag hung over her shoulder.

Police have released this CCTV image of the offender.

If you recognise her, or have any information about the incident that could help officers in their investigation, contact police on 101.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, or visit www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
