A boy who suffered several stab wounds in a horrific knife attack at a bus stop has today been described as being in a “comfortable” condition in hospital.

Police said the 15-year-old victim was stabbed “a number of times” in the back at a bus stop outside St Anthony’s Church, in Cadley Causeway, Fulwood, Preston, at around 3.45pm on Thursday.

The victim remains in the Royal Preston Hospital where he is having treatment.

His injuries are serious but not thought to be life threatening.

Detectives are interviewing a 17-year-old boy from Preston who was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and possession of a knife and is currently in police custody.

They are continuing to appeal to anybody that witnessed the incident or has any information that could assist the investigation to call 101.

Community leaders branded the incident “worrying”.
