Thieves broke into changing rooms on a Lancashire park and stole copper piping from inside.

The incident happened between 6.30pm on Sunday and 9am on Monday at the changing rooms on Ryelands Park on Owen Road, Lancaster.

The offenders forced a lock off a wooden door and entered the changing rooms and toilet area.

They then stole all the copper piping leaving the whole area to flood with water.

PC Adam Jussub, from Lancaster police, said, “I would appeal to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity on Ryelands Park on Sunday night or Monday morning to come forward and contact the police. It is going to cost the authorities money to repair the damage and replace the stolen copper in order to get the facility up and running again.

“If anyone has any information about this incident then they should come forward and contact the police.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Lancaster police on 101.

People with information can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
