Appeal for witnesses after two are injured in crash

A driver and his passenger were taken to the Royal Preston Hospital after being injured in a smash.

Police are appealing for information after the car the pair were travelling in was involved in an incident in Thurnham.

Shortly before 5.15pm on Sunday April 27, the BMW Mini was travelling from Glasson Dock to Cockerham when it has lost control on a bend near to the junction of Lancaster Road and Hillam Lane.

The driver of the vehicle received injuries which meant he needed to be transported to the Royal Preston Hospital by air ambulance.

The passenger in the car received less serious injuries, but was transported to the Royal Preston Hospital by ambulance.

PC Adam Dawson of the Road Policing Unit said; “This was horrible incident where both of the people in the car have been injured and have required hospital treatment.

“There were several members of the public who assisted the emergency services at the scene and we would like to pass on our thanks for their support.”
