Police are appealing for information about a prisoner who has absconded.
David Osbaldeston, 20, escaped his prison officer escort in the early hours of Saturday morning after being taken from Lancaster Farms Prison to the Lancaster Royal Infirmary after saying he had taken an overdose.
He was jailed in September 2011 and was serving two years and six months for motoring and assault offences.
Osbaldeston is originally from the Accrington area.
He is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall with short light brown hair. He was last seen wearing a prison issue burgundy T-shirt, jeans and black trainers, with luminous green laces.
Det Insp Andrew Ellis said: “We are very keen to trace Osbaldeston and return him to prison to serve the remainder of his sentence.
“We would ask the public to be vigilant and report any sightings to the police - any details the public may have could be crucial.”
Information can be passed to local police either in person or on 101 or information can be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
