Police are appealing for information following a robbery in Chorley where a man forced his way into a property.

It happened shortly before 8.30pm on June 20 at a detached bungalow on Sutton Grove.

After a 57 year-old woman, answered the door, the man pushed his way in brandishing a knife and demanded money before making off with £80.

He is described as white, aged 20-25 years, 5ft10, medium build with short dark brown hair, a black lettered tattoo on left side of neck.

He wore a scruffy white t-shirt, blue jeans with two front pockets and a rear pocket and scruffy dirty trainers with a velcro fastener.

He had a black handled peeling knife and spoke with a Liverpool accent.

Det Con Liberty Wadsworth, of South CID, said: “The aggrieved has been left distraught by this incident and I would appeal to anyone who has witnessed anything suspicious or who has any information to contact us.”
