An 18-year-old student had his bike and mobile stolen during a robbery in Ribbleton.

It happened at around 1.30am on October 16 when the victim was cycling home wearing his headphones.

He was on Leagram Crescent at the junction of Browsholme Avenue when he was approached by a man described as being aged around 17 or 18, wearing black clothing, a hooded jacket and black scarf covering his face.

The offender threatened him and demanded that he ‘give him everything he has or he will punch him’. The offender has then grabbed the victim’s drawstring bag which was strapped around him and attempted to pull it from him.

Scared, the victim ran away and left his bike which was then stolen.

DC Andrew Crook said: “This is a serious offence which left the victim very frightened. His is particularly upset about the theft of his bike which was almost new and is worth around £300. The offender also stole his Blackberry mobile phone.”

The bike is a dark red Carrerra mountain bike with a white coloured break caliper, black front caliper and British flag on cross bar next to stem.

Call police on 101 with any information.
