Police are appealing for information after a woman was the victim of an attempted robbery.

The 48-year-old victim was walking along Back Marine Road, Morecambe, on her way home from work when she was approached by a man.

He tried to grab her bag from her shoulder and the woman fell to the floor.

The man then ran from the scene empty handed.

He has been described as white, around 5ft 10in tall and of slim build with dark hair.

He was wearing dark, “scruffy” clothing. It happened at around 6.30pm on December 18.

PC James Martin, of Morecambe Police, said: “Fortunately, the lady was not seriously injured but was understandably left shaken by what happened and so I would urge anyone who has any information that they think might help to come forward.” Call police on 101 with any information.
