Police are appealing for information about the whereabouts of a man who they would like to speak to in connection with a burglary in Morecambe.

Between noon on January 31 and noon the following day, a man entered the property of an 88-year-old woman on Euston Road, in the town.

Once inside he took a quantity of money and a ring from a sideboard before being disturbed by the woman.

She asked him what he was doing before the man left.

It was only the following day that the woman noticed £250 and a gold engagement ring had been stolen.

Police would now like to speak with Andrew Perry, 45, from Morecambe in connection with this incident.

PC Sue Smith said: “We believe Mr Perry is in the Morecambe area and could help us with our enquiries, if anybody knows of his current whereabouts I would urge them to contact police.”

Anybody with any information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org.

No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
