Police are appealing for information after a traffic warden was verbally abused in a Clitheroe street.

At around 3:30pm on the 9th of March, the victim, who is Asian, was going about his business on a public car park on Edisford Road, Clitheroe when two men stood on the pavement across the road began shouting racist remarks towards him.

PC Justin Brown said, “This is absolutely unacceptable behaviour which has left the victim feeling very upset and we are very keen to trace the people involved. If anyone saw what happened or has any information that could help us to identify the two men responsible then I would ask them to contact us on 101 quoting log number LC-20140310-0386.”

Unfortunately, the only description we have is that both men were white, and one of them was wearing a burgundy jacket with black sleeves.

Anyone with information can contact police on 101.
