Appeal after man injured following road accident in Bacup

Police in Bacup are appealing for information after a man collided with a wall and parked vehicles on Burnley Road early yesterday morning.

At around 4.30am, a 45-year-old man from Burnley has been driving south along Bacup Road.

When travelling round a slight right hand bend, it is thought he has lost control of his Ford Focus and collided with a stone wall and a parked car and van.

The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with head injuries.

The circumstances are currently being investigated.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Roads policing officer Sgt Dave Hogarth said: “The man involved is in hospital as a result of his injuries and we are keen to discover exactly what has happened.

“Anyone with information can contact us on 101 quoting log number 131 of April 25.”
