Police are appealing for information after a musdskip worth £6,000 was stolen from outside a business park in Lancaster.

The theft took place sometime between 5.30pm on September 1 and 6.30am on September 3 from outside T.P Stadco Ltd on Europa Way, Lune Business Park.

The blue metal mudskip, which is used for the drilling waste when pumping for oil, had been left outside the front of the unit and police are appealing to anybody that knows where it is to call them.

Sergeant Guy Hamlett from Lancaster Police said: “There were three units present at the time of the offence but only one stolen.

“It weighs approximately 1500kg so would have required a truck or some form of heavy goods vehicle to transport it.

“The mudskip is distinctive and has an individual reference number MCE 056 both painted and welded onto it. It also has an offshore container data plate which will state the owner or manufacturer name of BRANDT along with its weights.”

Anyone with any information should call Lancashire Police on 101.

People can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
