MORE than £10,000 of property – including wedding rings and other jewellery – has been stolen in a raid on a home.

Police are today appealing for information frollowing the “distressing” burglary on a home in Morecambe.

The burglary is believed to have taken place sometime between 4.30pm and 8pm on Wednesday, January 9 at an home on West End Road. It is believed that the offenders drove up to the house, parked on the empty driveway at the side and forced their way through the garage. They have then used a garden hose to get into patio doors and gain access to the main house.

Det Sgt Kathryn Riley said: “This was a high value burglary whereby distinctive and expensive jewellery was stolen and we believe there is a possibility that the house was deliberately targeted.

“Also of note was the theft of a 2ft tall plastic Postman Pat figure containing a large amount of coins. This was very heavy and there is evidence of drag marks at the rear of the premises. I’m hoping that someone might have seen this Postman Pat figure.” Anyone with information should call 101.
