AN ACTION group is calling on residents of a Lancashire village to back their campaign against a housing plan.
An outline application for up to 350 homes and a new primary school in Cottam has been submitted.
But members of the Cottam Village Action Group (CoVAG) warn the development could cause flooding and traffic chaos.
CoVAG member John Parker said: “The primary concern is the lack of infrastructure to deal with this size of development.
“Also, the area is low lying and prone to flooding, and we have concerns that developing housing in that area will cause possible further flooding of adjacent properties.”
He also said that traffic management and the impact on existing roads was a serious concern.
The outline application, resubmitted by CEG Land Promotions Ltd, is recommended for approval at Monday’s planning committee meeting.
The group will be speaking against the application and is calling on others to attend the meeting and support them.
