A Lancashire library is to close for three months from Monday to allow a refurbishment worth more than quarter of a million pounds to be carried out.

Longridge Library, in Berry Lane, will benefit from £280,000 of improvements inside and outside the building.

A County Hall spokesman said: “The specific details for the build at Longridge are an accessible public toilet, Wi-Fi access, a self-service machine for issuing and returning items, 10 computers with free public internet access, and a display space for local exhibitions and events.”

County Coun Mike Calvert, cabinet member for adult and community services, said: “Longridge is the latest library to benefit from our regenerate programme.”
