Leyland woman hit by motorbike

A woman was left with serious injuries after being knocked down by a motorbike in Leyland on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to Stanifield Lane, Farington, after the collision at about 4.25pm.

Police said a white Aprilla motorbike was travelling from Lostock Hall towards Leyland when the accident happened.

The woman, who is aged 60 and from Leyland, was taken to hospital with serious head and neck injuries.

The road was closed for two hours following the incident for investigations to take place.

Sgt Malcolm Bell from Lancashire Constabulary’s road policing unit said: “We are trying to establish exactly how this collision occurred and I would urge anyone who may have witnessed what happened to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
