Journalism lecturer from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) has received a major international honour for his pioneering work in the Chinese province of Guangdong.
Matt Horn received the prestigious Guangdong International Friendship Award for his outstanding contribution to the development of the province at a special ceremony in Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou, south China.
Matt, from Ashton, Preston, has been the course leader of the International Journalism franchise programme run in partnership with Guangdong University of Foreign Studies since it began in 2005.
Matt was the only British person among the 14 award winners and it follows the Friend of Guangdong award he won seven years ago.
Huang Longyun, Chairman of the People’s Political Consultative Conference, Guangdong Committee presented Matt with the award at an event also attended by dignitaries including Governor Zhu Xiaodan.
